Default Is this too hot...

I'm a new member here, and made an account so I could ask this question. I know they say the fan doesn't come on until 220. Where is 220 on the gauge? The line got up between 1/2 and 3/4. This was in stop and go traffic, after making a couple quick stops at stores.

1/2 mark is 210 so I say that would be around 222, I would make sure both your fans are working. Next option would be is get SLP fan switch.

Interesting. With that switch installed, will it still automatically turn on if I forget? I should also note that I stopped in a parking lot later, and it would not warm up past the middle line. Idled maybe 10 minutes like that. Got out, fan seemed like it was on. AC was not. Maybe the P.O. changed the PCM?

Or rather...would installing this mess with any PCM modifications (like changing when fans come on)? I don't know exactly what had been done in terms of the fan operation.

The slp fan switch does not interfere with the pcm's control over the fans. If there programmed to come on at 225 or 190 they function as normal .

Fans don't come on until 226° and no, that is not too hot.

Here's a thread on how to wire either an EWP or fans to run all the time for anyone who cares.

I have the SLP fan switch and a 160 stat. It stays around 180 on hot days and when i'm at the track, I hit the switch for both fans and it never gets close to hot.

Pretty easy to figure out. There is a 100* difference between the first and lash hash mark on the gauge, four hash marks after 160*, therefore each hash mark has a value of 25* after the first 160* mark. 160 + 25 = 185 for the 1/4 mark, 185 + 25 = 210 for the half, 210 + 25 = 235 for the 3/4, and 235 + 25 = 260. Simple math.
