Default Anyone seen this intake??

Says it's for the LT1 but I can't figure out how you would use it, not too interested in buying it as I have a 58mm intake. But I was interested in learning what it is and how it helps (or hurts). Thank you!

It mounts on a single plane carb manifold but you would have to have the injector bungs welded in the manifold and this piece bolts to the top with the TB in the front.

Designed for a carb set up with a different intake setup totally, would not work on a stock lt1.

Ment to go on top of something like a vic jr or the like, helps flow more air at high rpm. Race car stuff is what Id call it.

My .02

Got ninja'ed lol

Wonder what's inside? That looks like a pretty severe short side radius from the outside. All the SS guys I have seen running single plane intakes use either Wilson (my hood would not shut on a Wilson) or one of the Edelbrock elbows. Those guys test everything, I have never seen one of those used. Doesn't look right from the outside.

I never could make mine as fast with a single plane as my Hogan sheet metal intake. Wasted money.

I figured it was wasted money. Just was curious how exactly it works! Thanks for all the answers guys, nothing like learning!

He's on crack with the price, I sold one of those exact elbows, modded with added bulkheads for vacuum fittings, for $150 not too long ago. It is made shorter to clear the stock cowl without having to cut any plastic. He is asking around what they went for brand new 5 years ago.

I sold this 860 Performance one...

and bought this IntakeElbows.com one...

Size: 51.4 KB
and then sold that too for a Accel 4150 TB.

...all before even running any of them . So indecisive, lol.

I have a Wilson on mine with a SLP Firehawk hood, your car has a WS6 Ram Air hood right? Last time I saw your T/A was one of the Thunder Races way back when so I can not recall. You have to "clearance" the hood to make it fit.

NHRA won't let me cut the hood to clear. Edelbrock's elbows clear just fine. Has a much better shape to it than those sheet metal pieces shown here. You asking that air to make a heck of a turn there.

How low do you need? Yes, as I said, the Edelbrock clears just fine.

Not saying it doesn't clear, I was more saying it looks to flow like crap. Will be the first thing to go if I ever get my car running well.

You talking bout this guy?

Everything I read said they were really lousy flowing pieces.

That's not the one I had. That one is about as bad as the sheet metal elbows shown. Probably still flows more than a throttle body, but have to wonder about the front cylinders.

That one is a lot worse then the 860 elbow listed. I think a stroker LS picked up like 40hp switching from that one to a bigger one??
