Default lt1 veterans step in

car is a 96 trans am m6 with the following mods
-24x
-le2 heads
-cam 228/236 .624/.606 110 lsa
-kooks stepped long tubes
-bosch 36lbs injectors
-58mm throttle body
The motor was rebuild prior to all of the go fast parts being installed. The block sent to a machine shop, bearings replaced, factory cranked cleaned up ect ect. The car is at a very reputable tuner right now for tuning but the car is running too lean on bank 2 to put it on a dyno. He has had the car for three weeks now trying to chase down the issue. He has checked everything that could possibly cause this lean issue. Vacuum leak, exhaust leak, played with the tune, speed density doesn't change it either. The next thing maybe is a timing issue with the reluctor and cam sensor maybe? Also the wiring harness and the motor work check out fine. I know this seems like another piece of **** lt1 with weird issues but I spent a lot of money making sure everything was done right. And the tuner has been doing this for a very long time so he knows what he is doing, so that's why it seems to be a bit more complicated. Thanks for listening to my rant.

person has similar issue but they never stated their solution

Do you have fuel pressure?

Have you tried other o2 sensors?

Swap o2's and see if the problem follows to the other bank.

Fuel pressure is within spec. And passenger side is on its second o2 sensor Swapping o2s didn't change anything tuning the car for speed density (no o2s and maf) didn't make a difference either. Car runs fine cold but when it warms up is when bank 2 goes lean.

How do the plugs look on bank 1 vs bank 2? Your sure all 8 are firing? I had a dead hole and the car drove and sounded fine. Injectors all flow the same? Are your rocker studs sealed? Just throwing out idea's.

I know the motor is firing on all 8. As for your other questions I am not sure but I am fairly confident that he has looked into the injectors.

seams to me like a tuning issue..I had my 24x tuned by a repitable tuner and they did a great job but could not get the o2 banks to work right, one was running lean just like yours and We ended up tuning out the O2 sensors...

How lean are we talking about? Is this being shown with a wideband or narrow. Are the o2s in their typical location in the y pipe? Is the motor running a split set of rockers? Does it just run lean on one side under light load or full load also?

I am using Bosch o2s. I am running kooks stepped long tubes the o2s are in the header. I have a home made true duel set up. The wide band is reading something like 24 to 1 so it's very lean. And yes it's just one side, bank 2 and it is ok while cruising but as soon as its loaded up and as soon as it gets warm it just goes lean.

I know the stock replacement Bosch O2s for the LT1 are very well documented to not work well, not sure what sensors you are using or if the LS1 pcm has better luck with Bosch but it worth looking into.

Has the tuner put a IR gun on the primaries to look for a dead cylinder? If not then you need to take your car elsewhere.

A lot of mediocre vendors get great reviews because they are nice and their customers can't separate nice from good work. So just because you think you have good parts and a good tuner doesn't mean you have good parts and tuner.
