Default LT1 388 stroker HELP!!!!! URGENT!!!!

My friend doesn't have access to the internet and is stuck on a electrical problem. The key wont engage the starter. When he puts the the key over to accessory or whatever everything has power, windows, lights, stereo etc.... But when he goes to start there is nothing. What could be the problem?

I need to know by 12pm pacific time.

Thank you

Is the starter on the car?

starter wire connected on starter?
purple wire at starter will have 12v while turning the key to run! IF it dont have 12v there then it has a wire issue up the column
What yr is the car? THAT will help dramatically.

It could be the vats. The square on the key connects 2 wires in the ignition cylinder and if its not the right current or those wires break the car won't start
