Default headers and gears

thinking about upgraded my 95 TA m6 with headers and gears

-Any suggestions on the headers? I hear that FLP headers give you like 50hp, but they are expensive! Im looking more for bang for the money.

-Any suggestions on the ratios? Im thinking 4.10

Im also concerned about the rear end - that i might put to much power to it and might break, so far ive got a cold air lid and corsa exhaust, with the additional above upgrades will it be able to take it?

I would just go with coated Jet-Hot LT's and 4.10's. As long as you dont put slicks on it and beat the hell out of it, the rear should be fine.

a) FLPs do NOT give you 50rwhp, at best longtubes whether it be JetHots, Hooker, FLP, etc on average give a stock LT1 anywhere from 17-22rwhp. Midlengths range 12-17 and Shorties 7-11 or so. Check out the JetHots, hard to beat their quality, performance for the price around $520 to your door with EGR, AIR injection, 02 bungs welded on and coated inside/out.

b) 4:10s will make best utilization of a stock LT1/lS1 M6. 3:73s on M6s are a nice combo if you have the rhwp (370+) & are sticking with a pretty much stock tire diameter 25-26". If you have the rhwp and a decent rearend, 12bolt or Ford 9, 27-28" ET Streets, etc and 4:10 gears make for a lethal combo out of the hole with plenty of 4th gear left at the traps.

c) There are folks who've ran the 10bolts in the high 10s but it's rare, on avg most crap out in the low 12s high 11s from what I've read, heard, seen, etc.

Your 10 bolt will be fine with headers and gears, you'll probably get it in mid to low 13s if you can drive an M6 good. If you were spraying out of the hole you definitely stand a chance of blowing out either the weak 10bolt pinion gear or ring gear, didn't see you mention Nitrous but just so you know.

for what u have and if u stay in the 13's it shouldnt be a prob...if u reach 12's start watching out for the 10 bolt...of course my opinions come from what i see.
