Default Anyone change pistons??

Has anyone changed the pistons on their LT1? If so what did you go with and why?

yes, TRW Forged, Sealed Power rings for nitrous application, etc, stronger than stock piston ring glands especially for boost applications.

I forged the bottom end as well when I rebuilt it and recommend you doing the same. Depending on your personal hp goals forging the crank is not really necessary unless your stroking it, but better wristpins and forged rods, top of the line bearings, etc would be highly recommended.

So granted i'm not changing pistons for a while. Is their a point with a N/A car?

Don't have many mods yet but big plans and its a good question that i will need to know the answer for in the future.

A piston/ring change is generally done for strength. If you're motor is old and crapped out, you'd replace the pistons during a rebuild. Pistons are also replaced if you're running a power adder, low compression for forced induction and high compression for nitrous oxide. Aftermarket forge pistons are very sturdy compared to stock hypereutectic pistons, they can take a lot of detonation without biting the bullet.
