To me, it looks like they took a pretty methodical approach to their testing.

It is a JOKE, everything "will make a bigger difference later" problem with that mentality is you have pissed away all your money on crap and have none left to do the mods that would have made a real difference.

Stuff like the MAF ends Ed Wright has shared with us his results on a stock MAF vs. no MAF on his OVER 500rwhp car and saw single digits, I believe low single digits at that.

The MSD ignition is also more likely to CAUSE issues as the excess volate through the cap and rotor prematurely wears them and makes plug wires more likely to leak voltage and arc.

On the airfilter if a paper filter is big enough it is great. People get carried away with "improving flow" when sometimes things just flow well enough already. Back when I was into trucks everyone told me I "needed" a K&N filter but my 305 already had a stock 14" round by 5.5" tall round filter, no way in hell it needed a filter that big but people still swore a K&N and it's reduced filtering ability would be good.

In the Nov. issue of GMHTP is part II of the series, they test headers, cams, RR and heads. It's a much better article than the first one but they haven't put it out on the web yet.
