I have a 95 z28, full bolt ons, just dyno tuned a few months ago, motor is very strong, took it out a few weeks ago did a few decent burnouts while i was out. on the way home started having this issue with my trans. never any trans issues before.

the trans shifts fine 1-2 but when it goes to 3rd it only has the gear sometimes. feels like nuetral others, does not feel like slipping. it does great for hours sometimes then feels like it falls out of gear. I have asked on a few local sites and noone seems to know. could this just be a shift solynoid? or do you have any other ideas?

Might want to try the trans section. By the way. You have a 4l60e not a 4l60.

 

hook a tech 2 or a good scan tool up and watch your shifts. or it will throw a dtc for a shift solenoid. then you need to remove the pan and measure ohms at the solenoid to determine thats the problem if it is. i had the same issue and mine was the 1 2 solenoid. good luck
