Turbonetics unit right?
Yep. Jon at Huron Speed suggested the 1.15. I initially went with the .96 but he said because of the cubes and mid range torque cam I needed to go with the 1.15.....

Alright, well basically you will have bigger heads than me but a smaller cam, may wanna research the A/R a little more.

Ok I will. A smaller a/r will let me have better throttle response and better spool time correct?

I know u put down prolly 700+ lbs of torque. Whats your a/r? I will do some more reading before I actually purchase it. I really appreciate your input, you made me put a lot more things into consideration.

Yes, over 700, and I have a .96 a/r which def makes for a fun car on the street.

The bigger a/r will net you better peak numbers so dyno will be higher and trap speeds will be higher. But, you may have some serious lag response wise on the street.

Just do some research on it before you pull the trigger.

Ok question. Since you have a bigger cam and smaller a/r than mine, could I substitute my smaller cam for a larger a/r? Just asking.........

Bigger by a degree of duration so they are basically exact same cams.

The larger a/r means you have less resistance, but it hinders spool so if its a pure daily street car you may be annoyed at the time it takes to get into boost. Smaller a/r means better response to flooring it.

From garrett:

"Turbine performance is greatly affected by changing the A/R of the housing, as it is used to adjust the flow capacity of the turbine. Using a smaller A/R will increase the exhaust gas velocity into the turbine wheel. This provides increased turbine power at lower engine speeds, resulting in a quicker boost rise. However, a small A/R also causes the flow to enter the wheel more tangentially, which reduces the ultimate flow capacity of the turbine wheel. This will tend to increase exhaust backpressure and hence reduce the engine's ability to "breathe" effectively at high RPM, adversely affecting peak engine power.

Conversely, using a larger A/R will lower exhaust gas velocity, and delay boost rise. The flow in a larger A/R housing enters the wheel in a more radial fashion, increasing the wheel's effective flow capacity, resulting in lower backpressure and better power at higher engine speeds. "

Ok, I understand now. I just thought that a torque cam and a larger a/r would give me that good balance. I had that thought in my mind but just couldnt nail it down.

Do you have any 1/4 mile times?

What size heads do you have since you say mine are larger........

Only two passes, mid 11s with a 2.5 area 60', almost a 140 trap, 10psi no meth etc.

Stock ported castings. Like I said, my stuff is simple.

Simple??? Thats pretty damn good!

With my compression I might have to use meth(at the track). I hope to get the numbers you have or better. I dont think I asked this question. What are your cubes?
