Default LT4 is back :)

So I’m sure all of you new for several days, but would hurt to see it again. Just gets me wondering what the ZR1 will have if the Z06 is supercharged. At the same time I’m excited but also disappointment why for the Z06 they didn’t delete the AFM to save weight for a high revving N/A 7.0L LT4. Maybe the ZR1 will be a stroked out LT4. Only time will tell...

Enjoy anyways!

You can't complain about 635 lb ft of torque! Quite a bump from the LS7's measly 470 It has a much better torque curve then even LS9 ZR1 engine. They couldn't hit the target power levels NA without making it spin crazy RPM's. Looks like the days of big cube naturally aspirated GM V8's in production cars is DONE

The LSX just got dethroned.

Wait till the aftermarket get's its hands on this engine. They'll be making this power without forced induction.

Wow, that's all I can say. It's soo much performance for such a low price. Quite amazing actually considering most if not all the stuff they are putting in it is brand new from GM. The GTR's had their hands full with the last ZR1. Now they really are going to have trouble keeping up in performance and bang for the buck

HP probably....diesel like torque from off idle; doubt it!

Wonder how to make one of those polls that you vote on. How many already LT guys have plans on a V LTx swap?

With all the new latest and greatest GM products My Z28 would be perfect with the black 2014 Z28 wheels, its new Z28 badging, and an Gen V LTx. Im sure other 4th gen LT1 Z28 owners would follow soon.

There are no plans for a ZR1 anymore.

FWIW, the Z06 outperforms the last ZR1, and for what we (hope) will be a lower price. At 80k this thing would be an embarrassment to other supercars that cost 2-3x the price.

It's an awfully small blower for that size motor though, and the blower is already spinning crazy fast, so we may not be seeing huge gains from just a pulley+tune like the LS9 cars were getting.

**edit** omfg I just saw the rotors for the first time LOL

Eaton better be using the new design on a 2.3/2.9 blower to up the power or the 1.7 will be running out of breathe quick.

I dig the entire car and hope to get one in a few years.

I am more interested in the 8sp trans.

Not to sound rude, but where did you get the confirmation that there will be no C7 ZR1?

Personally I don’t see why not.

Those Brembo Carbon Ceramics will be featured on the Z28 as well. 15.5” rotors on the Camaro I think.

As far as the ZR1 I wouldn’t be surprised if GM came out with a Lotus designed DOHC LT5 again. Northstar on steroids

You are correct the C7 Z06 is reported to be quicker than the C6 ZR1 and some expect it to have more than the reported 630 horse.

GM's Chief Engineer of the Corvette said they had no plans for a ZR1.

Anyone notice that the LT4 is using an aluminum damper? Thought that was a no-no for the street?
