Default cam swap

I want do do a complete swap on my 95 TA. I dont know anything about whats needed. I am also installing long tubes, 3.73 gears and whatever size stall to go with the cam. I have a set of cc lifters to install. I think they are a stock replacement. Would they work?

I know I have been looking at the full kits from AI. Looking at getting the full Ai 230 / 238 - .566" / .566" kit for my stock head/bottom end full bolt on 97 Z28.

http://www.advancedinduction.com/LTX/AiLTxCamKit.php

I don't have any personal experience with them but they appear to be everything you need to get rolling with the stock LT1 heads.

AI is a very reputable brand in with their cams and heads so you definitely aren't getting cheaply made products.

LS7 lifters are what I hear a lot of guys here run. When I was just gonna do a cam upgrade to my car, most recommended the cc306 and cc503 on stock heads. Some guys get away with a cc280xfi but always seem to run into issues. You also should think about getting some cc 1.6 roller rockers and a good set of beehive valve springs to let the cam operate safely.

Call Lloyd Elliot (http://elliottsportworks.com/?page_id=9) or either Advanced Inductions (http://www.advancedinduction.com/) and they will tell you exactly what you need to do. Hint: AI is a lot more expensive than LE........

I wouldn't bother with the Comp lifters unless you have a problem with the stock ones.
I also wouldn't bother with 230degrees on a stock longblock.

I wouldn't bother with the stage 1 heads either, if you are going to do ported heads, wait and do ported heads, well, not cheapest option available.

Go ahead and do cam only first in the meantime just don't make your choice based on maximum duration.

For a stock shortblock cam only setup I would say the AI 226/234
