Default Plug Wire Help

I'm doing the "oh so fun" task of changing out the plugs and wires. The car is supercharged with SLP shorties. Previous owner put wiring loom on all the wires (I guess to protect?). Is there any other way to offer protection without loom. The plastic melted everywhere. Can I wrap it in perhaps electrical tape? Or even header wrap.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Plug wires going back in tomorrow.

I did the over the valve cover wire conversion (otvc), no more burnt wires! And looks cool!

Like this (not my car):

I have SLP single cat mid tubes and on the passenger side I run the plug wires for cyls 6 & 8 through Aeroquip Firesleeve size 1 inch dia (-16). for a single plug wire 1/2 inch dia (-8) would work good. On the drivers side I run the wires for 5 & 7 through Adel clamps bolted to the block in the holes used for the oem plug wire raceway.

The PO ran #7 in the stock raceway and it is melted in there. I can't see how the raceway attaches to the block What's the easiest way to get it off.

IIRC there are two bolts above the raceway towards either end where it bolts to the block, you'll have to get them from under the car.
