Default installed afr gauge and showing lean

Just installed a aem afr gauge and when started cold it starts out in the low 11's and slowly rises and ends jumping between the low 15's to low 16's by the time it warms up. It's a bolt on lt1 with a mail order tune. What should I do?

I have the same gauge in my WS6 and when I started my car today, it idles between 13 and 14.5, and then once warm it settles down to 13, but when I rev it up, it jumps up to 15+. Not sure if that's normal or not.

When I rev mine up it goes down to around 12 give or take and then goes back up above 15 at idle

you need to tune it, it should be targeting around 14.3-15.3 ish in closed loop at any speed and most part throttle driving. its always richer on start up to help lubricate the cylinder with extra fuel and help warm the engine up faster.

Gasoline is not a lubricant, engines dont run rich in order to lubricate the cylinder and help it warm up faster.

An engine has to run richer when cold because cold engines cant atomize the fuel efficiently fast enough, therefore more is needed on a cold engine.

Also more fuel than needed washing down the cylinder walls is a BAD thing
