1994 LT1 350 4L60E problems
I want to thank the guys who helped me figure out my fuel problem car is running stronger than ever, but now tranny issues. I have the 4l60e tranny in which it shifts perfect at a cruise and when i slightly get on it. I start have problems when I stomp the gas. When i stomp it rpms are good and gas is there but when its time to shift gears it gets a stutter like im hitting the rev limiter and not wanting to change gears until I let off a little then it changes the same goes for 3 to 4 gear. Its like its hitting a dead spot on the fly wheel, clutch plate.I read up on it and gm says the TPS or accumulator piston
Are you the original owner, and has the transmission ever been reprogrammed or tables changed for gears, etc? Stock converter? Does the transmission seem to be slipping? Hard to tell you what might be wrong with no information.
Its the origianl transmission from the 1994 9c1 caprice Im the third owner the state had it but never drove it, the second owner was an old retired state trooper, and then i got the car never been abused. when i bought the car it only had 120,00 miles everything ran perfect in the 94 car, but now its in the 1989 caprice, and its has a little glitches here in there. Tranmission isnt slipping, but it has crossed my mind that it may need reprogramming I used the painless wiring kit, when i swapped the motor i detached the tranny when i dropped it in because i had to figure out my new motor mounts. and it is the stock converter, never touched the tranny except to put it back together
When the 4l60e in my friend's Roadmaster started to go the thing had trouble shifting at higher RPMs regardless of what shift points and limiter I set in his tune. He continued to beat on it until he lost 3rd and 4th gear. Then it started to slip in 1st after a few nasty burnouts. It was the stock trans with 70k. Car has a T56 now.
