Just wondering if anybody has a spring recommendation that will work with the LT4 hotcam retainers and seats, that will hold up better than the hotcam springs. I have the hotcam spring setup now but would like to upgrade the springs without buying a $240 dollar kit.

I use PAC1212x springs with stock retainers and seats on my hotcam with 1.6 Comp Magnum rockers. I've had this combo to 6200 with no issues. I wouldn't run them on a cam with more lift than the hotcams .525" though. I bought them from sponsor Car Shop Inc, they're good people.
I just checked out the current price on these and they've gone up quite a bit since last year.
*Edit* PAC1212x spring rates:
125@1.750
315@1.250
Rate 380
Coil bind 1.180

Yea those pac's are quite pricey. thought for sure there would be a lot more responses with all the LT1 guru's on here. I checked out the alex's parts springs, but they are never in stock. thinking about the SDPC Z28 spring for hydraulic roller,
130@ 1.800
350@1.200
coil bind 1.150
