Looking at buying a programer?
None.
Hypertech and pre-OBD2 LT1's don't mix.
Get Tuner Pro RT, Scan9495, the 16 pin ALDL OBD 1 to USB cable, and WinFlash from Tuner CATs. Total about $80. Learn to tune.
Or Get TunerCats kit for $300 and learn to tune.
Or send the PCM off for a mail order tune.

Download TunerPro RT (Free) and all the supporting LT1 definition files. Then find Steveo on LS1LT1 and download the XDF file in his sig. Then open the attached file and start playing around with all the tables. Steveo did an excellent job of explaining what most of the tables do if you just hover the mouse over the table. You'll see what I mean when you get the program running.
Read this link and this link a crap load of times.
You can also Google search for LT1 .bins and check out all the different ones and how they vary based on engine mods.
It seems like a lot to learn at first, but it's really not that bad.
Personally, I prefer Tuner Pro RT, but you'll still need the cable (make sure you get the right one) and WinFlash from TunerCats too. TunerCats also has the speedometer calibration calculator to make things easier. I have both Tuner Pro and Tuner Cats. I use Tuner Pro for basically everything except loading the tune to the PCM and calibrating the Speedometer. The 3D graphing on the VE and Spark tables makes things 100 times easier IMO.
Also, I'm not sure you are aware of this, but your car is NOT OBD2. It has the OBD2 style plug, but it is OBD1. Gary Doug made a program called Scan9495 for us 1994-1995 F-body guys so we can data log and read and clear the SES (DTC) codes, it's free. I'd say at a minimum the ALDL Cable and Scan9495 are a necessity if you have a 94 or 95 F-Body.
