Question guys..
if i drop in a 95 lt1 in a 96 lt1 camaro do i need to change the transmission? and i always wonder if its possible to use a originally stickshift lt1 engine to an automatic one.. #newbie here..

No, trans is good to go.
Yes, you can use a M6 LT1 in place of an A4 LT1.
There are some minor differences between the years. If you use all the sensors from the 1996 on the 1995 replacement you should be good. The Opti's may be different though, I'm not sure on that one, but you should be able to use the one the engine cam with anyway.

On the tranny swap on a given engine the only important thing would be if using an engine that came with an automatic you need to put a pilot bushing in the back of the crank for the manual tranny input shaft.
uhmmm .. i see, but yeah ive been looking for an affordable 4th gen lt1 but most of what i see are manual transmissions so ive wondered if i could use an engine thats originally from stick shift for my automatic. ive learned something new today.. lol #newbiehere
