Default Bouncing gas gauge

My gas gauge is never reading accurate for some reason. Every time I turn right the needle goes towards "E", when I turn THE needle left it goes towards "F" alot of times when I'm braking as well the needle is going down and when I accelerate it goes back up to were it was at when normal driving. From the information I've gathered (Forums) everyone keeps saying it's the fuel sending unit. I tried searching online for a new sending unit for a 96 Trans Am A4 and all the ones I keep finding are used Fuel sending unit's off of a C4 Corvette. Were can I go to get a new fuel sending unit or how I can resolve this situation without spending a dime? I changed my fuel pump 3 months ago but it did not provide a fuel sending unit with the pump. If I need a new unit can you please provide a link or website on where I can go to get the unit and resolve this issue?

Thank You! (96 Trans Am 152K Miles)

I'd say that is relatively normal for 4th gen when the tank is half full or less. Mine swings a lot, too. I just rely more on readings when on a straight, level road.

Yeah, I've been told that as well lol It's just a little annoying looking at it when I'm driving.

lol cheap g force meter? Mine does this as well when im probably at 3/4ths or less. I would say the more annoy thing besides the bouncing gauge is the inaccuracy of it entirely. (example) You fill up before work monday and it reads basically full mon-wednesday and then between friday it magically drops to a 1/4 tank.
