Default Tire help!

Hi guys I have a 96 z28 auto with 3.42 gears a 3200 stall yank ss converter and a 125 shot of nitrous I bought rims off a 1997 z28 the five spokes 16x8 and planed on putting quick time pros on them but now I noticed I could get the mickey et streets in a wider size. The Hoosiers are 26x9.50-16 with a 8.00 tread width. The mickeys are 26x10.50-16 with a 8.40 tread width or I can get 26x11.50-16 with a 9.70 tread width. Which tire is going to give me the best bit and which size should I get will the bigger mickey fit on an 8 in rim. Thanks

I had the M/T ET Street bias ply 26X11.50-16's on salad shooters without any modification if that helps. Looks like you've already got it but make sure you pay attention to the actual tire size not just the sidewall designation. M/T rates the ET Street different than the ET Drag. ET Street sidewall designation is actually the section width not tread width, just posting for other readers! Like I said, it appears you already know that!

To answer your question more tire is going to give you more bite off the line but can hurt you on the top end. I'd put all the tire you can fit unless your racing a series/class where size is limited. M/T recommends the tire be +/- 1" of wheel width.

Thanks for the help. Ya I know you always want wider but I herd the hoosier bits better then the Mickey that why I wanted the Hoosier but with the Mickey being 1.70 inches wider I don't know if I should get the Hoosier because it only 8in wide and that doesn't seem like a lot of tire
