LS1 steering rack and shaft on LT1

I purchased ACDELCO Part # 36R0391 and a ls1 steering shaft off of ebay. I am swapping out my steering rack because it has went bad. However, when i go to install the new steering rack and shaft in my 96 z28, the rack will not line up because the steering shaft is bottoming out. What am I missing?

I have one on my car, had zero issues installing it, maybe show a pic of the problem? I can't picture anything that wouldn't line up, other than maybe you didn't get the shaft in the hole all the way.

The intermediate shaft is 90* off on an ls1 shaft compared to the lt1 shaft.
