C4 Vette getting up to 230 oil temp.

C4 Vette getting up to 230 oil temp. What is up with this? My oil temp when I get a little sporty with it will jump up to 231.
The coolant stays around 210.
After a while the temp will go back to 219ish.
Still I want it around 190. What gives?

well the oil is consistantly being run through the motor.. Not sure if the vette's use a oil cooler.. But there is no thermostat to allow the oil to cool more efficiently like a radiator in the cooling sys. does.. My advice is to get a bigger more efficient oil cooler and you should see a definitive decrease in oil temp's.. When you romp on the car it generate's more heat via friction, exhaust, etc... so thats why it rises'
