Default Stalling Issue

Help me shed some light on this issue. I have a 97 z28 with a delteq coil convertion. its been running good but recently its been stalling like as if the spark cuts out. My fuel pressure is good. It will just cute out for a split second when its cold but completely stall once warmed up. When Im driving and its warm it will cut out for a few seconds but start back up because in rolling in gear. When it fired back up I get a nasty back fire out of the exhaust will a huge fire ball that I can see in my side mirror. My guess is its still pumping fuel and when it stalls and it ignites in the exhaust when the spark come back. Does this cutting out seem like a opti issue? I have band new coild and a new ICM for the Delteq.

Honestly it sounds more like a fuel issue. Are you able to drive with a fuel pressure gauge taped to your windshield so you can monitor fuel pressure when this happens?

Thanks for the thought. The fuel pressure stays steady when it stalls. I do notice the red light on the delteq controller turn off then come back on. Today I replaced the opti with not luck. the car is still stalling

Sounds to me like you have a loose wire related to the Delteq system or a faulty Delteq controller (or whatever they call it).

The Opti, in your case, only tells the PCM of the cranks and cam positions. If your injectors AND spark fails simultaneously then it's likely Opti sensor related. If only one fails, it's not the Opti.

I checked all the wiring and its all in great shape and making good connection. I checked the voltage to the unit and its getting 12.5v with the engine off (same as the battery) I shook all the wires to see if it could be a loose connection and it wasnt affected. Im seeing 24x in my future

U can get a scan for the PCM and read any codes. Also your OBD II can have codes stored that dont lite up the SES light.

It sounds temperature related like a semi-conductor device. U need to contact delteq and at least find out what that LED means.
