Default Leaky seals

Hey folks, anyone have any experience changing the front main seal on a LT1? Seems like a fairly simple and easy task. Mine has developed a major leak since my last oil change... So I bought a high quality seal with the rubber material around it so my dumbass won't break the seal as easily while installing it. Now, obviously the car leaks more oil while it's running cause it's warm and thin. This means while traveling on the roads it's blowing it back everywhere, thought the rear main was leaking but it was just from being blown back onto the transpan and all that stuff.
I run 10w-30 Conventional oil, purolater filter, the car runs about 23psi at 180* and runs about 10psi at 232* right before the fans come on. Now since then i changed to 160* thermostat, and tuned the fans to come on at 180* I know a lot of you are going to freak out and tell me that's way to low of oil PSI, however a SBC needs 10psi per 1000rpms so I'm good with it, besides only paid 700$ for it.

That is pretty low pressure for it so I'd watch out for that.

But its not that bad to change the front seal. It's actually easy when you get going.

You are right. There is absolutely no reason to have your fans programmed for 180°.

I have heard so many story's from different people about LT1 and oil psi haha. It hasn't changed since I've gotten it, and since then I've put about 1700 miles on it and it's been fine, no issues at all. Hell who knows as much as this seal leaks that's probably where all my PSI has went.. Lol just kidding. Alright, seal change should happen here in the next hour I'll let you know how it goes.

What temperature would be ideal? I hated the 232* that is just way to hot for my liking. I can change this within Minutes with my programmer. How's 190*?

195 or so would be better, IMHO. Stock on temp is 226.

Okay 195 it is. Change of plans, seal is being changed today. Never got around to it yesterday so I'll keep you guys posted. Hopefully it goes well. It leaks a quart every two days.

New seal is in, gotta put the harmonic balancer back on, fans back on and the MAF sensor and air intake elbows and filter. What should torque the Harmonic Balancer too?
