Mac mid-lengths from what I have seen have great plug access. Dont give up much power to long tubes either. Friend of mine runs them on his 93 Firehawk M6 with just a tune and Macs he dynoed 309 rwhp and 342 rwtq.
I bought the coated Pacesetter LT years ago still running them, an they look great. Not the best fitting but not the worst either. On some f-body's fits good and others fit terrible. Just a hit and miss with them. IMO, best bang for your buck.

I have had the Hooker Long Tubes and now Kooks Stepped Long Tubes. Both fit fine. I would bet the Hooker Long Tubes at one point were the most installed brand of Long Tube Header on LT1 4th gens. For the longest time they were one of the only options.
Mac Mids if you want the Best plug and oil filter access. My LPP Long tubes fit Great and were still just prototypes. Im sure with the new batch they came out with they will be even more improved.

I've been extremely happy with Kooks headers. The fit is dead on the money.
They are expensive, but are certainly worth the money.

I had Hooker for my first set, now Kooks. Kooks Y-pipe has much better ground clearance. The Kooks were uncoated at first but stainless turns ugly after a while and under hood temps were high. Last time I had the engine out, I sent them to Jet Hot and had them coated. I'm much happier now.

i just got speedengineering full stainless longtubes and y pipe in the mail today. they look well made and the welds on the flanges are nice. when i put them in i will let you know how it goes.

My Kooks fit nicely and they used to provide some of the best ground clearance available, if not the best. The only issue I had was the support bracket that I believe mounted to the factory y-pipe did not line up correctly with the Kooks off-road y-pipe.
I've had the hooker long tubes and now the pacesetter coated long tubes. The pacesetters have WAYYYY better clearance for a lowered care (my hookers + y pipe dragged on every speed bump) and install was better. Also, I removed my AC & ABS and that really improved pug access. Lastly, my Hookers fit oftley close to some components and we had some melting and almost a fire. If you want a good, cheap header, buy the Pacesetters - I would stay away from the Hookers, but thats my opinion. If you have the money to burn, buy the Kooks.

Pacesetter long tubes here. driver side is easy to install and fits well, the passenger side is a nightmare to cram in and might take some creative thinking. Also you might need to get some heat tape or thermal insulating material for a few bit of wiring harness on the passenger side as well.Not the best fit, but I haven't had any exhaust leaks. If you can buy painted of any brand and coat them yourself you can save yourself a some wallet stuffing as well.

I'd go with Kooks if there's any way to get them in the budget. Pacesetter fitment can be hit or miss, and Hookers are very nice, but hang a little low. The Kooks aren't much more expensive than coated Hookers and you get a stainless steel header that in my experience has both good clearance and good fitment. I've gotta throw a disclaimer in though that ANYTHING can have fitment issues, especially on older cars. Oh, and I'd suggest a 1" bolt with a 5/16" head. Makes installation a lot easier.
My painted pacesetters have held up for 8 years, good ground clearance and fit if you replace the motor and trans mounts with eurathane mounts, which you should do anyways since your 20 year old stockers are probably crumbling. I am considering LPP or OBX or whatever stainless ones I can find soon though to get rid of my capped off emissions fittings. Getting the EGR hooked back up with emissions long tubes SUCKS.
