WOO! THANKS!!! I wish we took a picture of all the people around the car inspecting it for an LS or spray. It was awesome lol.

Good times. Can't wait to do it again.

It seems the LT1 couldn't be more proud of the Optispark the last two weeks here on LS1tech. NICE VIDEOS.

That's a pretty cool event, glad you brought the C4 out. I think a car like that is more fun to race because it has absolutely nothing to prove to any one. Just go out there and have fun with it. When it starts beating down cars it shouldn't all the more better.

I agree, very cool event. I think if we would have brought out any of our big power cars, I really don't know if we would have had as much fun. I think it's funner to beat on the bigger power cars with our less power one. Nobody expected it lol. Few people gave the green machine dirty looks when it first rolled up....afterwards,..not so much lol. Priceless day.

I have been on the same Opti for about 4 years. Had a bad one before that. The opti that has been in service for 4 years only has about 5-6k miles on it though.

I keep telling people C4s are the ultimate sleeper right now.

"Only" an LT, so everyone assumes its like 300rwhp, Vettes are way less likely to be modded then Z28s or TA's so many will think its just bolt-ons, AND they are light as hell so run pretty quick with deceivingly low hp.

I put Loctite on the Rotor screws and sealed the unit together with RTV Silicon. You still have your Opti vent hooked up right?

The C4 chassis is very capable of handling big power too. Most are not accustomed to seeing really well modded and set up C4s too. I'd like to have a LT4 'vette one of these days, clean examples trade pretty cheap these days.

I could be mistaken, don't think there are any motorcycles at the Wanna Go Fast events. They're limited to 135 cars per day and I think it costs something like $400 per driver for 2 days and as many passes as you can get in.
I know that if I paid $400 to attend race for 2 days I wouldn't personally want the lanes crowded by a bunch of bikes, as is the case at so many dragstrips.

I agree,..get your hands on an 80s model...or a early 90s,...drop an LS anything in...an aluminum block would be ideal,..change all vehicle bushings and go to coilovers.... honestly a very hard car to beat. I think if I ever try and build something fast for the street again,...it would be a C4 for sure. No bikes at the event.

Pretty sure the vent is still hooked up.

With all the cars,...honestly, ended up being something like 6 lanes of cars lined up....plus the sponsor cars who skipped lines all day, it ends up being a mild traffic jam. We started by starting the car everytime the lines moved but...ended up getting the clutch a little hot...had to even park once or twice and skip a race cause of the heat... we ended up pushing through lane till we got to the line, then started for burnout, and race.

I am happy with how it was ran though. Seems to be the most organized non quarter mile event/non road racing event I have been to in a street car. Any more cars though....would have been a bit much.

Where do bikes crowd lanes? I wanna go there lol...At our track they stay on the farthest lane to the right and run last every round after drag cars then street cars.

It is usually so mismatched here that there could be 5-6 bikes waiting for a field of 100+ cars plus a row of dragsters and a handful of JR dragsters on a TNT. By the time all the cars have gone I can only get 2-3 runs in during a whole day...

I'm surprised its so expensive though, $400 seems steep when it is a 135 car field even for a 2 day event.

Yeah it's a bit pricey but we went so many times,..it was worth it. Especially to be able to go that fast,..and not go to jail.

Again with the short shifting @6000rpms( we shifted, no more, sometimes less-since it wasn't custom tuned and breaking up at higher rpms, we didn't want to risk damage) we went 141.7mph. Just a few miles per hour slower then a new hellcat.

Curious how much mph you picked up over the last 1/4 mile. I'm getting this crazy idea about running my car if they have it again.

Good question. Curious ourselves. Gonna TRY and make it to the 1/4 strip soon, with no changes to the car. We'd like to see what it will trap for sure. Then we can at least get an idea of rwhp.

Regardless of anything. Anything at all. Run the next event. Trust me. It is TOO much for NOT to.

Seriously.
