I have never heard of using a torque value to adjust rockers on a LTx.

LT4 used 'net lash' for its roller rockers. I believe GM says that LSx lifter trays will work on roller cam SBC engines. You're both right, Worlds are colliding!

Plug wires are easier on an LS for sure, plugs still suck IMO.

8mm short socket to loosen them. Now for the pro tip of the day. The back four bolts on the LS1 intake have to stay in the intake to come out, but if you raise them up to clear the heads and wrap a rubber band around two of them, front to back, the band will hold them out of the way and you can slide it right out.

Thats a trick that I picked up from working on modular fords.

^^^This right here is why I have a GTO and not a 4th Gen.

I don't need to do any of that nonsense when working on the engine. Need the intake removed? Zip 'em up and lift it off.

Just use rubber vacuum hose with a slit in it. Also take the plastic on the cowl off and its even easier.

I actually bought those plastic lifter sleeves to hold the lifters in place on a Gen 1 or 2 for a cam change like an LS that GM was selling. Just in case I wasn't happy with my cam selection. But I'm happy, so I guess a wasted a few bucks.

My first car I bought was a 1995z28 M6 bone stock. I learned a lot working on that car…. Ended up with LE2 heads and XE230/236 cam… ran strong and made 383rwhp/353rwtq on a mailorder tune.

Next car was a 96TA with a 383ci / AFR227’s/ PT88 turbo setup… it was 95% complete before I parted it out to start on a house project. That car had some really nice parts and would probably have been an easy 900rwhp car.

My latest car is a 2010 SS M6 I bought stock in September. With CAI + full exhaust + tune it laid down 409rwhp/402rwtq on a mustang dyno. I just finished installing a turbo cam and Advanced Inductions LS3 heads. I am going to have it tuned/dyno’d in April and expect 468-480rwhp with the turbo cam. Next winter comes the T76 

I love the LT1’s and miss mine, but the lsx motors are easy to work on and have a ton more options for parts (and potential).

I do not think you have heard a LS1 with Kooks true duals...here let me enlighten you.

I like both platforms...the LS1 platform is simply a more capable platform. the biggest advantage is the PCM. It is much easier to work with when tuning larger cam shafts and forced Induction setups.

The argument about why see everybody going to 5.3 or 6.0 motors instead of sticking with the LS1 is simple...cheap horsepower. Most LS1's are getting up there in age, so instead of rebuilding them, most will opt for the 4-600.00 dollar 5.3 or 6.0, slap a turbo on it and make 700whp for the price it would cost to rebuild the LS1 with forged components.

I still got luv for the LT tho.

LS1 with Kooks TDE is that cheater mod. No rasp and LS. Should be illegal. 383 LTX with Kooks TDE is that BBC sound mod. Should be illegal as well. sounds too good.

And was the first to implement an insane button in the cabin that kicks the v-tech in? If the valves are torqued down to 18.1ft lbs the v-tech won't work?

I just finished a 383 LT1 engine in my b-body and I'm still building a 370 LQ4 engine on the side because I just have always wanted an LS engine.
