Default 96' Camaro Cruise Control

Something I want to fix on my Z this Spring/Summer is the cruise control. When my brother still owned the car before I bought it the cruise control quit working. He never fixed it before selling the car to me "Shame On Him." I wanted to get opinions on what usually goes bad. Is it just the module under the hood or are there times it is the control itself on the console. Are there way to test either of them? I wanted to get it fixed to make the car as fully functional as possible. Thanks for any and all reply's!

Added Note:I am not using a SS spoiler with a LED light.

Bump^ having the same problem. Let me give you a little advice, make sure you note that you are not using a SS spoiler with a LED light or you will be bombarded with people telling you about it lol

A burned out or NON functioning third brake light bulb will casue the cruise to not work IIRC.

If its a manual trans check the clutch switch, sometimes they partially fall out and **** sideways.

Something else you could try is take battery cables off for 5 minutes or so and maybe it'd reset the code. Not very likely but however it has worked for some. I forgot to ask does your AC compressor come on at all? Some folks have hade problems with the AC compressor stopping along with there cruise control not working.
