Well I have looked and found some stuff but nothing that really had answered my question. I have a 94z28 camaro that has an odb1. Now just out of curiosity would it be worth my while to swap this lt1 to an obd2 car and what would I need to do this and as a added thought I will be swapping a Ls motor in the future, so how would this affect this aswell? Any thoughts??

 

Wouldn't be worth doing. Nothing wrong with 94-95 OBD-I cars. If you're wanting to go LS in the future, you're going to need a complete harness, and no, the 96-97 OBD-II harness will not work for that. If you're wanting better tuning ability on the LT1, it would be better to go 24X.

 

your going to need a newer ECU for ODB2 as well, you mine as well make the switch when you do the LS swap.

 

The 94-5 system is cheap and easy to mod, hell there is free tuning and data logging software. Your idea is poor and misguided.

Tuner Pro RT for tuning software, free. Scan9495 from GaryDoug (a member here and LS1LT1.com), also free. WinFlash (from TunerCat), $20 IIRC. And an ALDL cable for your car (12 pin), <$90 ($60 IIRC). You'll need a laptop, but who doesn't have one now days?

So for $110 or less you can tune and data log your car (even manually activate ABS solenoids and motor's). Nothing else comes close to that in cost. The LT1 PCM isn't the greatest out there, but you'll be hard pressed to reach its limits on most typical builds. If anything, you'll see OBD2 LT1 guys going back to OBD1.
