Some of the pistons which were directly below the wiped lobes sent metal into the piston skirts and cylinder walls. Of course, being the cheap bastard I am I did not want to bore out the block and buy new pistons. Clearances were measured and my builder said he'd do what he could. He was able to hone the ridges out of the scratches so they cannot be felt, however there is still scarring in the cylinders:

It's most likely not the optimal setup, but it should do in a pinch, and I was able to reuse the pistons which would of added at least a grand onto the rebuild. We'll see if it holds up. The motor isn't going to be anything more than it was before. Going back to a hydraulic cam and the builder is going to message the bowls on the heads to get a little more flow. Cam profile is unknown. Still leaning towards something in GM847 territory, but may be a custom job. Will try and peak around 6500.

Anyway, let it be known if you notice the roller bearings on your lifters are starting to pit, replace them immediately. Check the cam lobes closely to ensure they do not follow suit. If they too are pitted, you may be into some monies. My issue was from pure neglect. My fart...
