Default jerking

Whenever i would give my car more than 3/4 throttle under 2000 rpm the car will sorta jerk forward, almost like the clutch is slipping, but only in 2nd or 3rd gear. After about 2k it runs great, its just before. Also in 4th 5th and 6th if id give it gas under 2k, it just seems to spit and spudder slightly untill it revs up. Anyone have any idea what this could be? I didnt think it was the clutch cause like i said all throught to red-line its fine. Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

P.S. My car is in my sig, and it did this before those mods too. I originally noticed it when the CAGS would kick in and at that low of an rpm, giving it more that just the wieght of my foot on the throttle would do it. Its a lot worse at 1k.

How's it idle?

Almost sounds like you have some "other" type of problem going on, causing surging.

Do you still have an EGR valve? It's on the driver's side, rear part of the intake manifold. If you look at it closely, you'll notice inside it is a rubber diaphragm. Squeeze the diaphragm with your thumb, to make sure it moves in and out smoothly. If it sticks or is stuck open, well, there you go - it acts like a vacuum leak (which causes rough running and surging at low RPMs).

Another problem area are the AIR pump check valves - the little valves that sit on top of the exhaust manifolds. Sometimes these can fail / get stuck open, and do weird things to the computer measurements.

Hope that helps...

I'm having a problem like that also. I did replace the Ignition module behind the coil and it helped alot. You can take those off and take it to an auto parts store and they can test the high and low speed circuits.
The EGR things is a new one on me, I'll have to check that on mine. This miss/surge is really pissing me off. Though, I have seen Opti-junks go bad in 2k mikes.
As for the A.I.R. pump, pull it off and block off the pipes tho the manifolds/headers, what ever you have. It won't set any codes and just tape up the wire to waterproof it.
