Default ICM's literally burning up. need help

I might give that a check. When I got the car the guy said it wasn't priming... so he bypassed the relay next to the hood release. I used a toggle switch from there on out. Never been an issue. But the other day after putting the ICM on the side of the shock tower, it sat for a few hours. Came back, car did OK, till got down the street. Putting my foot on the accelerator killed it... like it was starving. Limped it hope 2 blocks away. Then switching on the pump I heard it almost squealing like a fat pig. Opened up the fuel cap and pressure blew out. So either the filter is plugged up... or could be a fuel line in the tank messed up. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated!

When you space it to far away from the head it's harder for the heat to escape from the icm which burns it up twice as fast there are a few threads on here and similar forums that explain it better but I went through 4 icms in two weeks bcuz I used a half inch nut on each bolt
I replaced all 3 wires coming off of the CKP. Heat shrinked all with heat shrinked butt connectors. ICM is on the front side of the shock tower with the heat sink, ground with a self tapping screw into the fender well. All that white compound is applied very well. When I did the first run, it was sooooo much cooler than I could have ever imagined. So I'm happy with that. So far. But now I must mess with the fuel. Either fuel filter or pump is the cause. Thankfully I have a trap door. So shouldn't be too bad checking everything out. Thanks for the reply. I will get some of that compound u talked about, thanks a bunch.... and much appreciated.

So after some digging... a combination of the fuel pump, and the 3 wires were the culperite. Fuel pump was replaced with a new pump and sending unit, and everything held up going on my trip to Nevada back in September. Thanks to everyone who helped out. Now onto another problem....
