Texas speed and performance or lpp. I have the tsp 1 3/4 with the ory they fit good sound great and don't break the bank.

With the cost of stainless headers coming down quite a bit over the past few years I see no reason to opt for a mild steel painted or coated header. Stainless headers used to be only for those willing to drop around $1k on a set, not the case anymore these days.

Exactly, LPP is your best bet for high quality stainless headers that will last and not break the bank. Yes they will add HP as the stock exhaust system is restrictive. Headers are never a waste of money unless you buy cheap ones that will rust out in no time. Go with the LPPs and don't look back.

Won't be the best but all the more reason to opt for a stainless header since you don't have to worry about scrapping off coating and exposing bare steel if you bottom out. Stick with a standard over the axle catback to help with ground clearance, forget duals if that's a concern.

Duals like true duals? And what do you mean by standard you mean standard header , or material or standard header size

I know not as many know if these, but me & many others have also had great luck with the OBX stainless headers. Great quality headers that are stepped 1 7/8" headers, collector merge spike, 3.5" outlet. Basically the best flowing setup that you can get on off the shelf headers. They are completely based off of the Kooks headers, but half the price. Fit is great.

Yeah true duals and by standard I just mean the way the exhaust is routed from the y pipe to the rear of the vehicle.

Do yourself a favor and spend a little more and buy stainless headers. All Pacesetters will rust with time (I have the coated ones and never drive in winter and they still rusted). Do it once and do it right. Check out Texas Speed and LPP

You probably will have ground clearance issues if lowered (slammed really @ 2" drop)...the problem is not with the cat-back exhaust, it's that most long tubes collectors and the required much larger diameter y pipe has much worse ground clearance than the stock setup (or mid-tubes for that matter) and hang a couple inches lower. A couple inches might not seem like a big deal, until you factor in you are already lowered 2" so now you have approximately 3-4" ground clearance and smack the y-pipe on every speed bump or even when bottoming out the suspension in dips in the road.

My 99 Firehawk has long tubes and it already drags the y-pipe on speed bumps if not hit at just the right angle and it's stock ride height....I would like to lower it but it's out of the question due to the long tubes.

I went with the pacesetter coated mid-tubes on my LT1 since it's lowered 1.5" already and I don't need any worse ground clearance than already. The mid tube collectors are tucked up tighter underneath the car and don't affect ground clearance significantly. Something to keep in mind before you buy long tubes then complain of clearance issues.

LPP and OBX will provide the most ground clearance as they are both clones of Kooks headers.

Post some pics once their installed, I'd be curious of the ground clearance on them on a slammed car.
