Default Need some advice please

Well guys, i think i may have found my problem. A little history first. My 95 TA blew the factory LT1 up this last winter. After looking around i found a good deal on a low mile, 375 HP LT1/LT4 out of a 93 Corvette. i paid to have the motors swapped out due to not having a garage. Long story short, after a long time of my mechanic being ill and no work getting done on my car i went a picked it up yo finish myself. i got everything hooked and bolted back together and ready to test fire. after cranking all i would get was maybe a hit and even a pop back through the intake. i inspected all wires, plugs and firing order. i also tested the fuel pressure and checked all vacuum lines. after determining it was a problem in the ignition i removed the opti. wow, this is what i found. the opti looked as if it had been broken in several pieces before and someone had made a lame attempt at gluing it back together. after getting it apart this is what i found....give me your input as well as what my best option for replacement would be.

It's not uncommon for the water pump to leak, or seep, onto the opti. My factory original opti looked a lot like that, and to be honest it probably looked a lot worse, when I removed it after 100+k miles. In my opinion, what you are seeing is very common. If you get a new opti, get a Delphi, which may be new, or an AC Delco, which will more than likely be a reman at this point.

Being broken is up like that is probably not common, but the rust is very common.
