The tranny to have?
IIRC, the 93 does not have a T56. It's a slightly different transmission.
A T56 is a solid transmission, and easily modified to damn near bullet proof. Hell, stock it's very very strong. Low maintenance and easy to rebuild.

So you have a version of the T56, although the M28 is rated to 360ft/lbs and the M29 is rated to 400 ft/lbs, while the 1994+ T56's are rated to 450 ft/lbs. I'm not sure why (maybe gear material??).
Maybe call Tick or D&D and ask them (let us know what you find out of you do).
The nice thing is with the M29 and M28, you could run 3.42s and be more like 3.73 or 4.10 ratios.
I say keep your current transmission and build it up, new bearings, syncros, steel shift fork, short throw shifter, clutch, etc. and enjoy.
Tick or D&D can hook you up. The transmission you have is a great transmission and very hard to beat with just about anything else for the price, especially since you already have one.

I contacted tremec about an lt1 magnum t56 because I saw something on their website, and unfortunately they released that info prematurely, not happening in the near future. (Unless enough of us express interest)
Anyway, my plan is to beat on mine till it expires, then buy a 94-97 eBay trans, then send it to tick.
