Default 92 y body - c41 error code - icm question

Hi guys. So I put this on the corvette forum but haven't gotten any responses.

I disconnected the icm harness and have 12v at a and d. I have around 5 volts on b when cranking. The only thing I haven't done yet is connect a test light to c and a 12v source.

Would this be the icm? Also is there any way to test it or should I just buy a new one? Any difference in the quality of the brands? I know nothing about these but they appear to be made overseas.

Any other areas to check?

If I recall correctly C41 is a current code identifying loss of ECM serial data. When this code is present, the car usually will not start because the CCM cannot communicate with the ECM to enable the fuel injectors. So does your car run or not start up? Doesn't sound ICM related. Anyway, to answer your question, mine is still the factory ICM. Alot will warn you that a nice shiny red MSD will cause more problems then it solves... Stick with factory or factory replacement for ignition related issues on LT1's!

thanks for the reply. The car cranks but will not run. I check the computer file and it appears OK. When the car was running it just started running rougher and rougher. It was kind of chugging like it wasn't running on all cylinders. after sitting for a few additional month, the car would not start at all . I did see on a thread on the Corvette forum that if the ICM is not working properly it will not relay signal which apparently can cause the c 41 also. I did end up ordering a replacement part yesterday, so hopefully we will see if this works. hopefully this will fix it and if not then I guess I could take a look at the ECM and wiring between the ECM and CCM .
