rpm readings

Just put my lt1 ws6 back together. I have snapon solus scanner and with key on engine off rpms on scanner read 183420. Once car is running there is 200 rpm difference between scanner and factory tach. Anyone seen this before and should the lo res signal be negative? My gut is telling me opti spark has a problem. It is a ac Delco with less than 15000 miles on it but it has been sitting for 8 years. Car runs strong just very rich at idle.

The factory tachs always read off (usually high).

The low res, not sure about that one.

The RPM with engine off is meaningless. As noted above, the tachs are not always exact. Nothing points to an opti problem that I see.

Mine was 300 rpm high on the tach when I was getting it dyno tuned. Normal from what I've seen.

Mine was about 250-300 high when I had it tuned
