Default Thinking of getting an LT1 Bird

I came across an LT1 Trans AM and the transmission was rebuilt, 3.73 gears, and is an automatic. They guy says it makes "motor noise" but has no idea what the issue is. the asking price is 1200 and he says he has another LT1 motor to throw in for 600 dollars and it has like 55k miles on it. It look alright and the interior is decent. I have an LS1 WS6 and I know an LT1 won't compare but do you guys think 800 is too much or is it not enough info to even get involved?

I think you need A LOT more info, but I'm pretty **** when it comes to research. "Motor noise" is awfully generic & doesn't really tell you much, but I'm guessing it's probably not good. Is the car close enough for you to check out?

yeah about a 20 minute drive.. I figure its worth driving to check out and then maybe hammer out a deal that includes the extra motor or just low ball him into 600 of 700 dollars

it's worth that as a shell or just as a beater. snap it up with the spare engine, and if you don't like it, part it out? if you wad your WS6 one day, that spare shell could come in handy too.
