Default Timing chain lower gear removal

Need to remove the lower gear that's on the crank shaft for the timing chain. My 3 jaw puller will not get behind it what have you used to replace. Thanks in advance

Harbor freight sells a cheap set of 3 jaw pullers. The set has 3 sizes with it, and I used one of the smaller sizes to pull mine.

You can carefully use a two jaw puller, too. Once it starts to move you are usually home free.

if you have a torch....apply heat to gear if it won't budge with the puller

I heat the new one with a torch and it taps right on...use gloves :-)
