95 Trans shuts down! HELP!!
My son had his 95 T.A. away at college and it started shutting down on him while driving? I got it home and ran it for a while no problem... then I figured out that the car seems to die once it hits right around it's normal operating temp. Temp reads correct on dash and on a manual gauge so I'm stumped! Any Ideas where I should start? HELP!

Data log is the way to go. I'm going to lean towards the problem being the opti. I know everyone says opti but my brothers car had the same symptoms before it completely went out. It would randomly shut off while driving, then it would run fine for a week. It just progressively got worse until it wouldn't start at all. I would also say check fuel pressure. Your pump could be going out.

My guess is the either ICM is getting hot and acting up (do the ICM spacer mod or try a different ICM) or the optispark may be on the way out. I would check for the opti related codes or symptoms. Sometimes there's no codes however.
Symptoms:
* Car suddenly dies and won't restart
* Starts but immediately dies
* Extended cranking to start
* Rough idle
* Sputtering
* Backfiring
* Trouble reaching higher rpm
* Black smoke from exhaust
* Poor performance with car warmed up
* Weak plug wire spark
* Codes 16, 36, and 42 may be set
