Lt1 exhaust My uncle has a 97 z28 with stock exhaust on it, and want to put headers and dual exhaust on it. My question is will it throw a check engine light if it has no cats or anything else emission related to the exhaust? And if it does, is there a way to eliminate it? I figure the car will need a tune anyways with the headers, is there a mail order place that could do it? Thanks

FWIW, I ran a single cat on my I pipe and saw no losses on the dyno at over 400rwhp (although my single exhaust isn't helping) another member here had dual cats and also noted no performance drop with a lot more power.
The only emissions things that you really need to ditch is the AIR pump if you use new style cats and EGR if you install a big cam.

Ahh, didnt know Lt1 camaros had an after cat o2 sensor like my Ls1. Doesnt seem like many people tune lt1's anymore, is there a good mail order tune that could eliminate the check engine lights and tune a lt1 for headers?
