Default Lt1 heads question

Would lt1 heads port matched to a lt4 intake still work with a stock lt1 intake? Isnt the port job just wider but not taller? Heads have comp 915 springs, would these be good springs for the cc305 .544 lift?

IDK about the heads now matching the LT1 intake...but the 915's would be "ok" for the 305

I believe you have another thread asking ?'s about springs and that cam. I am not a fan of Comp's bee hives and run a dual spring like I reference in that thread.

If these heads have 20k mi on the 915's...at the very least I would pressure check EACH ONE and carefully inspect coil for any cracks, especially the top flat coil that goes around retainer

The heads are freshly milled, new valve seals and have 0 miles on them.i agree about the dual springs!!! Hes asking 160 bucks for the heads. I just dont think they will line up with the lt1 intake so its prolly a no go.

A stock lt4 intake has the same ports as the lt1.

Not true. They have the same dimensions, but are off location a bit. Will they work? Yes. But not to peak flow. Best to keep lt1 intake with lt1 heads and the same for the lt4.

Port location between LT4 and LT1 intakes is the same. There is a marginal difference in port dimensions where the LT4 is ever so slightly wider. The only real difference is that the LT4 has more meat at the top of the port where it seals with the head. I don't think the LT4 port is any taller or has thicker walls at the injector ski slope which is the real bottleneck.
