Default Jumping RPMs

I have a 95 trans am. I drove through a puddle and sucked up a bunch of water. I changed the distributer and have cleaned out the throttle body. As far as I know there are no air leaks. Anyone have any ideas as to what my problem could be making the RPMs jump? They jump at idle and while driving.

Mine did that once and it was the opti, did you air blow to make sure you got all of the moisture out?

I didn't replace the distributer myself, I got one of the local shops to do it. I'm at a loss as to what the problem could be.

Any codes? If the MAF is exposed to moisture it'll influence how the engine runs. Also, just because a distributor gets wet does not mean it is ruined. Most likely just wet and needs to be dried out. Hopefully you still have it and can use it as a spare.

I had similar issues twice. Once I think the opti got wet, but it cleared up after some driving. The other time it was corrosion on the coil wire where it connects to the coil. Replaced the wire and it fixed it.

I did plugs, wires and changed the coil with the distributer
