Your tranny should work. Almost everything should work since the body is identical except for the frontend. I'm not sure how that would work, what you would have to mod. You'll have one crazy sleeper on your hands though

Never done it but I know the bellhousing will be different. Transmission is essentially the same but the bellhousing is different I know. The stock hood on the Firebird is incompatible with an LS1 airbox setup. I do not know about the Z. I would think the computer would not be plug n' play but I am not for sure about that. Do know about the bellhousing and hood though.

Well you could cure that by using a different filter setup than the one the LS1 uses... you could just use an LT1 styled upper intake with the pipe going to the side and a couple filters on the end.

You will basically have to have the wiring harness off of a LS1 F-Car...... Computers/harness will not work together at all.....Bellhousing as stated about is different, and I believe that the tranny is a bit different....ie: internal clutch engagement fork.....not sure on that though......
Intake wise, you will have to run a setup other than the "lid" system that the LS1 F-Car uses...

I read a post in the conversions/hybrid section and a guy was having poor performance out of his LS1 swap due to the use of an LT1 style intake system. His theory was the elbow was not providing sufficient air flow and the straight-in design was best. Maybe the difference is too miniscule, but I'm not a high performance engineer either. An LT1 ram air hood with air box would be a good idea. All you would have to do is get an adapter at the plumbing store to mate the round MAF to the oval TB.

I was referring to the wiring inside the car to the gauges. Obviously the engine will need the proper harness running to the correct computer. However, would one need to rewire the whole thing to get proper gauge readings? It might plug right up but I've never ask that question before to someone who has successfully done it.

Youll also have to change the gauges if i am not mistaking, different k-member, ls1 tranny, ls1 pcm, radiators might be different, think that is all. Id sell the ls1 and mod the hell out of the lt1.

I almost positive you will need a different trans, something about the inputshaft I think, dont quote me on that, but its something to look into.
