Default stock head valve springs

Have bone stock heads, ditching the stock cam idea, cam will have def no more than .600 lift. Seems like the 2 kits to get are the crane 10308-1 or the lunati 73925K5. Everyone used to say get the patriot ones but it seems they discountued them. Any of the two kits better than the other? Any other good kits for around that price that im not aware of?

the 10308 spring "max" lift is .600....so if you are running that high a lift, or more, than the Lunati kit which is good to .630

I have the Lunati kit, got it from Lloyd Elliot.

Did alittle more reading and doesnt the lunati kit have to be shimmed correctly inorder to get the max lift or something with open pressure?

Myself and others have ran the crane kit with zero issues. Not the best out there but simple and works well in its intended use.

I was switching from the crane to the lunati, and the for that part number would have to buy all new retainers locators etc. the lunati springs are not as wide. The machine shop said would have to work the cups on the heads as well.
I would set it up with the lunati springs the 1st time in case you upgrade later.

both springs are a "plug & play" for the LT1. The Lunati kit comes with retainers, locators and locks and new valve stem seals. The valve stem guides do not need to be cut down or spring pockets do not need machining either

like any spring...you should confirm "installed height" and shims may be required to get the desired installed height

The Crane spring is good for .600 max lift so if the cam is a .575 lift cam...you should be good but IMHO I would give myself .030 of clearance before coil bind

Having used both, The Lunati is a better spring, IMHO

Iirc the crane kit doesn't come with valve stem seals and stock ones will not fit with the inner spring due to the umbrella shape. Or Atleast they didn't when I bought them.
