Default LT1 mechanic needed in Cerritos,Ca

need an lt1 mechanic. i purchased my 96 LT1 caprice 10 years ago with 63,000 original miles. took it to George Bates in Upland,CA and he changed every fluid, spark plugs, and all my brakes. he cloned my car to a 96 Impala ss. i now have 100,000 miles and need a major tune-up. George Bates is no longer working but his shop is still around with new owners. Talked to a few guys and they said the service and quality of work is not the same. I NEED A MECHANIC close to my home. any suggestion please let me know. thank you

What do you mean by "major tuneup?" If you are going to own one of these old cars it is best you learn how to do the basics yourself. Cheaper too.

Your LT1 bible:

www.shbox.com

It will cover everything you need to know.

Caddy

while there are some differences between B & f body the shoebox site 411 will apply for plugs, wires, opti, belt.

you can buy a Haynes manual specific to B-body to use also or a factory Service manual often found on ebay.

Fortunately the B-body has more room under the hood so access is easier than a F-body
