Default Will this "muffler" quiet my car?

To begin, I'm building a street car currently as my college student sized funds permit.

The other day, my muffler began to rattle a bit, which naturally led me to cut off everything behind the first inch of the y-pipe.

It is a mildly modified car, and it does sound incredible as is, but because I'd like to be able to drive it without blowing my eardrums out, I'm getting an exhaust put on it. I know the configuration I want: headers into an X-pipe, to turned out axle dumps. This leads to my question. Will using a pair of these mufflers as tips work to quiet it down to manageable levels?

Won't that sound like a truck at that point, though?

Also, I should probably mention that when I say "manageable levels", I am referring to any amount quieter than headers, as in will they make it quiet enough to not get me pulled over when I'm just cruising.

That won't do ****, but an 18" magnaflow bullet will help. That's all mine has and I LOVE the tone at WOT, and it's a lot quieter idling, neighbors still hate me at 4am.

Dumps will be usually be louder that exhaust coming out the back due to the resonance bouncing off the ground with the bullets facing down towards the street.

An 18" magnaflow will quiet it down enough, that's all I have hanging off my Y pipe. You can cruise without getting pulled over, but it screams with a nice tone when pushed.

So I found a killer deal on an x-pipe and a pair of loudmouths locally, so I went with those. I'm hoping it'll be quiet enough that I can still pull in at midnight without getting the cops called

You may want to run ear plugs. I did when I ran e-cutouts right off the long tube collectors. I could still hear stuff reasonably well around me and I didn't get deafened by my car.
