Default oil pan removal

trying to remove oil pan to replace gasket on 94 firebird LT1. which bolts do you take out of motor mounts? bolts into engine, bolts into k member or the long one that goes fore and aft? we got the nut loose on the long one, but can't get the bolt out as its shoulder is hitting one of the bolts going up into the engine.

You should be able to remove the long bolt between the block standoff and rubber mount on the PS. Driver side has 3 bolts going into the block if you can get to them/not able to get the long bolt out. Then you should be able to lift the motor up.

You don't have to take the pan off. Just drop it down. Clean the **** out of the outside of the pan with brake clean and simple green. Because the gasket is rubber you can slide it up into place on the outside of the pan and it won't lose its elasticity.

I know exactly what bolt your talking about.. I took mines out today.. Had to jack the driver side of the engine up with a jack and pole on one of the ears on the front of the block then it came right out..

When you put it back, turn it 180 degrees and put the nut on that end. Mount has sagged causing interference with mounting bolt heads. FWIW
