Hi,

My brother have a 1993 camaro 5.7 with a 6 speed transmission. We experienced a problem. When we cruise, the engine shut down. We have power everything...but the car crank....and wont start. Car sit down at his house, and after 2-3 days, when we crank the engine with the starter, engine fire-it up.

sometime he wont used the car for 3-4 days...triend to take the car, and wont start.......sometime, he run on the highway and engine shut down and wont start..we need to call a wrecker.

Do you have any idea ?

We change last time, we change the iginition module (the one is with the coil on driver side)

Really need help...we dont know what to do with this !

Figure out if fuel or spark issue next time it happens.
Does it crank at all and just no start?
Do you happen to have a spare key? Could it be the vats?

 

This same thing was happening to me in my truck a few years ago and it was the fuel pump. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't. It was weird...

 

When it's happen, the car crank, but not start at all........

Sometime..we run on the highway..and engine shut down......we crank..but engine not running !

 

You need to put a fuel pressure gauge on it when you crank it to see if your getting fuel pressure. That would tell you if your fuel pump is bad.
