Default LPP Header review

I recently installed a set of LPP LT1 headers during a complete drivetrain swap from a 94 Trans Am to a 95 Formula.

First impressions upon opening the box were very good. Welds looked perfect, no slag anywhere. The included gaskets were MLS type of unknown brand. The included Y-pipe, while did not arrive the same day as the headers, looked to be of good quality and was polished.
The gaskets sealed very well and have, so far, not had to retighten the bolts.

Fitment left something to be desired but wasn't too bad for the price I paid for these.
The y-pipe didn't want to easily slip over the collectors and had to be persuaded.

Due to the use of my Moroso oils pan, one of the driver side primaries mad contact with my low oil sensor. I ended up having to BFH that primary a bit and was not able to use the low oil sensor because I couldn't plug it in. This would not have been an issue with a factory pan.

One of the primaries also contacts the steering shaft slightly. I'm hoping to remedy this with an LS1 shaft.

The driver side also contacts the factory K-member along one of the pinch welds but is easily fixed with a BFH.

The O2 sensor positioning seems to be pretty good. The driver side didn't even require an extension. The passenger side did, however. Personally, I wish the passenger O2 sensor pointed inward so I could run the wires through the motor mount bracket and keep them further away but oh well.

All in all, good headers for the money. I have no regrets on my purchase and would buy again.

How's the ground clearance with the collectors?

I installed these on a lowered 97TA (koni's and Sam Strano springs, so 1.5" drop) and the ground clearance is quite good.

Better than I had with Stainless Works headers on my 99 LS1 lowered with the same setup.

It's not too bad. I haven't scraped the headers yet but the y-pipe scrapes every once in a while.

I've got the LPP's on my '95 Z28 M6. I thought fabrication quality was excellent. Had some minor fitment issues at the engine cross member pinch welds, but some minor grinding took care of that. With the starter and oil filter removed, I was able to slip the headers in from the bottom. The y-pipe off the driver's side collector was right up against the floor brace, but I was able to radius the floor brace with a hammer. I also made a heat shield for the fuel and brake lines in the same area. I couldn't get rid of exhaust leaks at the band clamp slip joints, so I used some Walker exhaust sealant in those areas - may go to v-bands in the future. I also picked up some extended length, 3/8" hex head Milodon header bolts. With the exception of one bolt on each side, I'm able to get a socket or box end wrench on all of the bolts. I was also able to get away without O2 sensor extensions on both sides by rerouting the wires.

How is the clearance between the y-pipe and the body bracing on the driver's side (near the fuel lines?) The Pacesetters on my old car made contact with this area, even with the factory flat spot they put in the Y. Ended up having to do some slight shimming to get around it. I want to go stainless on the new car, and LPP is my top choice so far.

I haven't had an issue with it.
