P1371 Code and idle issues

P1371 Code and idle issues Have a friend that just picked up a squeaky clean 1996 Z28, only downfall is that it has 160k on the clock. It's throwing the code "P1371" which I belelieve is optispark related. Whether it's the harness or the opti itself I have no idea, I've also heard it could be the crankshaft position sensor. It's also having idle issues and will surge up to 15-1700 rpms. I was thinking this would be either a vacuum leak or an IAC issue. FYI, it does this when coming to a stop while in drive and while it idles in park. Other than that it runs perfect. Just making sure my diagnosis on these issues is accurate. Thanks.

As a side note, Our cars can run without the CPS as they are mainly used for help with Misfires.
